Earlier this week the Biz Blog switched over to a new software program, but the settings defaulted to me approving all comments. (Sorry, I didn’t realize until today it was set like that).
I personally don’t like that kind of monitoring, so I’m having that setting switched so people can post and the comments will just pop up. If someone posts something way out of line, I’ll delete it. Ideally I’m hoping this will be used as a discussion about business happenings in Whatcom County, and be a place to answer questions about what’s going on around town.
If you have questions, let me know. Thanks!
The number of Whatcom County bankruptcy filings edged up in March, following the trend across Western Washington.
In March there were 57 local filings, up from 56 in February. It’s also up from March 2008, when there were 37 filings, according to statistics from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Western District in Seattle.
Whatcom County has seen monthly filings above 50 for six straight months.
In the western district, there were 1,161 filings in March, up from 1,056 filings in February. In March 2008, there were 744 filings.
