A few building permit notes

Written by | The Bellingham Herald | December 30, 2010

While scrolling through the latest Bellingham building permit applications, I found a few interesting tidbits:

– The remodel of the Lakeway shopping center (Where the Lakeway Cost Cutter resides for a couple more days, according to signs) appears to be moving forward. The application permit for the remodel calls for about $650,000 in improvements.

– A permit has been filed for 909 Squalicum Way (near Squalicum Harbor) to combine a couple of suites for a marine electric business.

– It appears Jalapenos will soon be occupying the former Pastazza space in Barkley Village. Sign permits for Jalapenos have been issued for that spot at 2945 Newmarket St. Next week I’ll try to track down the owner to find out whether it’s a move or a third Bellingham location for the company.
