It’s something that was announced earliert this year, but below is a news release from Alaska Airlines with some reminder details about its new routes to Hawaii, including out of Bellingham. Allegiant Air is also scheduled to start offering its Honolulu/Maui flights out of Bellingham on Wednesday, Nov. 14:
Alaska Airlines is launching three new routes linking the West Coast and the Hawaiian Islands, with new seasonal service between Portland, Ore., and Kauai beginning Nov 5; between Bellingham, Wash., and Maui beginning Thursday, Nov. 8; and between Anchorage, Alaska, and Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii beginning Nov. 10.
“We’re pleased to offer three new nonstop flights to Hawaii, giving our customers even more opportunities to visit the sunny Islands this winter,” said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of marketing. “With Alaska Airlines’ great low fares, no charge for a carry-on bag and award-winning service, travelers can enjoy an easy and affordable winter getaway to paradise.”
Overall, Alaska Airlines offers 27 flights a day to Hawaii’s four major islands from Anchorage and seven West Coast cities.
Portland-Kauai: Portland residents will enjoy four flights a week between the Rose City and the beautiful Garden Isle of Kauai starting Nov. 5 through April 7, 2013. The new seasonal service is in addition to the airline’s existing flights between Portland International Airport and Honolulu, Maui and Kona.
Bellingham-Maui: Northwest residents from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Seattle will have more options to escape the rain with new seasonal, four-times weekly service to Maui from Nov. 8 through April 14, 2013. Alaska Airlines currently flies from Bellingham to Honolulu, Las Vegas and Seattle.
Anchorage-Kona: Alaska residents will have convenient access to some of Hawaii’s best snorkeling and the world-famous Kilauea volcano on the Big Island. Nonstop seasonal service to Kona begins Nov. 10 and ends April 7, 2013. The new service complements the airline’s year-round daily service between Anchorage and Honolulu and seasonal service to Maui, which begins Nov. 4 and ends April 14, 2013.
Flights will be operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, accommodating 16 passengers in first class and 141 in the main cabin. All flights offer Alaska’s Northern Bites meal service, which provides passengers in the main cabin with a hot meal for $6 or a fruit and cheese platter for $7. The flights also offer Alaska’s inflight entertainment system, a handheld video-on-demand device featuring more than 70 hit movies, along with television programs and other entertainment. The inflight entertainment players are complimentary in first class and available for $10 in the main cabin.
