The Lychee Buffet on 819 Lakeway Drive (across from Fred Meyer) was closed on Thursday, Dec. 15 and appears to have shut down for the time being. There was no note on the door and the phone doesn’t have a message, but equipment is packed away. I’ve also had a few phone calls from customers saying they were told the restaurant would be closing.
I’ll see if I can find out further details today.

Well, poo! It was my mother-in-law’s favorite restaurant, and I’d take her there for lunch. She’s been gone for three years now, but it has great memories for me. I hope it’s only temporary!!
Hi Diane,
It was one of my daughter’s favorite places because of the soft-serve ice cream machine.
speculation without details is what i look for journalism.
Hi Jake,
I’ll continue to try and get a hold of the owners to see if this is a permanent closure or if it is in transition. The fact remains that it is currently closed and it’s on this blog as a head’s up to readers so they don’t make a trip out there for lunch/dinner.
They had cleaning scheduled last week with my company – both carpets and hoods; and put it off due to “family issues”. They have an extremely clean kitchen and the highest standard of quality in their food of any of the local buffets. I really hope they are okay!
I’ve lived in the Geneva neighborhood for 6 years and never been there. The thought of all those unwashed hands touching the buffet utensils is enough to ruin my appetite.
To be fair, I don’t eat out anyway–too overpriced. Restaurants charge a huge mark-up on inferior products. I make a pizza a week and it costs me $5.00 for a large super duper pizza. Comparable price would be $20.00 at a pizza place.
Last time I ate there I got very sick. Haven’t been back since. Went to the Buffet in the mall and watched a young girl not wash her hands in the bathroom (mom was standing right there) and then go out and get more food. Ever since then I stay away from Buffets. I don’t trust that you washed your hands.
For Lease sign is up, so I guess that’s all.
It seems like a popular location, so I would guess another restaurant would snap it up. I remember it previously had been a pizza place (Round Table?) for many years…
