Audrey Borders, president of Bellingham’s Borders and Son Quality Roofing, was installed as the 2013 President of the Building Industry Association of Washington on Thursday, Nov. 8.

Borders is only the second woman to be named President of BIAW in its more than 50-year history, according to a news release. Borders was installed by BIAW’s first woman president, Dottie Piazza, who led the Association in 2002. As the largest trade association in Washington state, BIAW represents more than 8,000 members affiliated with the building industry.

Borders has several key goals for BIAW and the building industry in the coming year, one of which is to unite the local associations and membership throughout the state.
