Catching up on banks

Written by | The Bellingham Herald | October 27, 2009

The flu bugĀ has hopefully run its course at home, so I’m back in the office getting caught up on all theĀ business news I missed last week. First, here’s the list of seven banks that closed on Friday, bringing the total to 106 on the year:

Riverview Community Bank, Otsego, Minn.,

Bank of Elmwood, Racine Wisc.

Flagship National Bank, Bradenton, Fla.

Hillcrest Bank, Naples, Fla.

American United Bank, Lawrenceville, Ga.

Partners Bank, Naples, Fla.

First Dupage Bank, Westmont, Ill.

Florida and Georgia continue to be popular on this bank closure list.

I’ll get more posts up soon about local business happenings as I continue to get unburied here at the office.

  1. Linda Partlow says:

    Dave,

In case you haven’t heard yet, the winner of Tuesday’s WWIB award was Debbie Gann of Home Attendant Care. I know, you guys are thread bare in the newsroom and The Herald won’t send you to a dinner event. Anyway, hope you print something soon, I’ve had people I know ask about when The Herald will print something about Debbie.

  2. Thanks Linda, I hadn’t heard about the results. I’ll go track that down.
