Chamber of Commerce to host workshop on adapting to new economy

The Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce & Industry will be hosting two free workshops, titled “Embrace the New Marketplace – How Local Businesses Will Win in a Dramatically Changing Economy” on Wednesday, Sept. 2 (there’s a morning and afternoon session, each lasting about 2 hours).  If interested, give them a call at 734-1330 or go to the chamber’s web site at www.bellingham.com.

    Whatcom County taxpayers forked over $4,854 to Alaska Airlines for the privilege of taking passengers to Las Vegas.
    The article mentioning July’s BLI record might have included that factoid.

  2. Hi Citizen,

    Not sure what your referring to with the $4,854 factoid. There’s an airport fee charged on each passenger ticket, which goes into a fund that pays for improvements/generates revenue. There are also FAA grants.
