Downtown Bellingham restaurant closes

Written by | The Bellingham Herald | June 30, 2011

The Bistro on Magnolia Street (near the Railroad Avenue intersection) had its last day of business on Sunday, June 26 and will remained closed, according to an announcement onĀ  its Facebook page.

Kyle Lynch and Alexander Moore opened the restaurant on Oct. 10, starting with a breakfast and lunch menu before adding a dinner menu.

They had taken over the spot after Nona Rosa’s Ristorante closed in August 2010.

For inquiries about things such as unredeemed gift certificates, e-mail the restaurant at info@bistromagnolia.com.

These same guys had a business in Portland called the Bistro on Everett Street. They did the same thing: closing with no notice. Apparently they had some unpaid debts before fleeing town — to Bellingham, apparently.

Shoot! Another good B’ham restaurant closing. Not good. Pastazza, soon Nimbus and now The Bistro.

  3. Mike says:

Too bad, they were one of the most promising to open in a while, now where will we eat?

These guys are criminals. They closed with 10′s of thousands of dollars owed all over town, including dozens of vendors and all their employees Mike, Lisa, please do your research. A situation such as this can and does have a detrimental effect on our local economy. Bitter vendors, now with more overhead due to these two, simply can’t afford this nonsense that Alexander and Kyle created. How can you two sleep at night? You stole from our community. You talked shit about Bellinghamers since the day you got into town. You don’t deserve the privilege of living in this community. Move back to Portland where you can and did get away with this bullshit. FYI, the runaround does not work in a small community as you have learned. Please leave.
