Grand opening celebrations Jan. 14 at Bellingham Public Market

Here’s a news release from the Bellingham Public Market, which has scheduled a grand opening event for three businesses:

Three new businesses in the Bellingham Public Market will be joining forces to throw a combined grand opening party. The businesses are Trapeze, Carmen’s and Mount Baker Books. There will be free food and beverage samples, live circus performances, and special discounts.

Trapeze, which is a café, bakery and deli, is located in the center of the Bellingham Public Market. The bakery specializes in fresh, organic and gluten free goods. For their coffee and espresso drinks, they use beans that are actually wild-harvested in the jungle. Their teas come from Living Earth Herbs, another Public Market business. The deli has home-made soups and organic sandwiches made to order. Trapeze has a circus theme and donates a portion of their profits to the Bellingham Circus Guild. Members of the Circus Guild will be performing at the grand opening, plus Trapeze will be offering half price on all hot beverages, including espresso drinks made with their wild-harvested coffee beans.

Carmen’s is located in a food trailer in the parking lot of the Public Market. It serves American, Mediterranean and eclectic food dishes including Philly steak sandwiches, gyros, and home-made chili. During the celebration, purchase one entrée at Carmen’s and get a second entrée of equal or lesser value for half price.

Mount Baker Books buts, sells and trades used books. They have built on their success as a regular “day table” vendor in the Public Market and now have a larger permanent space and a much larger inventory. During the grand opening celebration, if you purchase one book from Mount Baker Books, you can purchase a second book of equal or lesser value for half price.
