Mira Swieciki
Mira Swiecicki, owner of Lynden Vision Clinic, recently expanded her practice by acquiring Spyglass Optik in Bellingham.
Swiecicki assumed operations of Spyglass Optik after purchasing it from Jeffrey Young on Friday, Feb. 1. Young, who founded the clinic in 2005, is relocating out of state, but his employees are staying at Spyglass Optik, according to a news release.
Swiecicki was named 2012 Optometric Physician of the Year by the Optometric Physicians of Washington and is a former president of OPW. Swiecicki recently was honored by The Bellingham Herald as one of its “Ten Who Cared” in 2012 for offering free monthly classes to help people manage their diabetes, which is the leading cause of blindness in adults in the United States.
She began practicing at Lynden Vision Clinic in 1996 and became its owner in 1999. She now is treating patients there and at Spyglass Optik.
Spyglass Optik now accepts Group Health Cooperative, Regence, Medicare and several other insurance carriers. The clinic is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 7 p.m. Wednesdays. An open house is planned from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15.
