Donald and Leslee Gongaware of Blaine recently launched Tutor Doctor Northwest Washington, which provides one-on-one tutoring in the homes of students.
Tutor Doctor Northwest Washington, which has a pool of more than 40 tutors, primarily serves clients in Whatcom, Skagit and Snohomish counties. Recognizing that learning is a life-long endeavor, tutoring is provided to students of any age in a multitude of subjects, Donald Gongaware said in a news release.
Along with traditional academic subjects, Tutor Doctor Northwest Washington provides qualified tutors to assist with college entrance exams, English as a Second Language studies, General Education Development (tests, and specialized subjects. Tutors are available to work with students of all ability levels.
“We create an individualized educational plan for each student and match tutors based on the student’s academic needs and personality,” Gongaware said. “One-on-one tutoring helps students build confidence. Grades typically rise 10-20 percent in the first six months.”
Donald Gongaware, a U.S. Military Academy graduate, served 28 years in the Army, Army Reserves and National Guard. He has earned bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees and been a vice president of operations in five companies. Leslee Gongaware has more than 25 years of educational experience as a teacher, guidance counselor and program coordinator. She has a master’s degree in education and holds current teaching and counseling certificates in Washington state.
