One restaurant opens, another closes on Samish Way

Written by | The Bellingham Herald | January 23, 2012

A couple of quick notes of restaurant changes on Bellingham’s Samish Way:

- Arby’s has closed its restaurant 117 N. Samish Way. The building has a “closed permanently” sign and directs customers to go to its other restaurant at 4390 Meridian St.

- On Friday, Jan. 20, El Albanil Mexican Food opened at 3619 Byron St. (in the former IHOP building near the Samish intersection). The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day. Manager Rafael Alvarado said they plan on focusing on affordable, quick dining. Prices range from $5.75 to $6.95 for lunch. Details can be found at this (link).

Last week’s snow/ice storms put me behind in physically looking for business openings and closures, so if you’ve spotted any recently, put a post here or send me a note at dave.gallagher@bellinghamherald.com and I’ll check them out. Thanks!

  1. Avoid the buffet! says:

Do we really need another mexican restaurant in Bellingham?

  2. Samish seems to have quite a few more these days.
