I’ve had a few readers asking for a status update on WinCo’s building permit application. The grocery retailer submitted plans to put a store in the former Joe’s sporting goods building.
I sent an email to the city, and received this reply from Kurt Nabbefeld, Senior Planner on Wednesday, Dec. 5:
Thank you for contacting the Planning and Community Development Department regarding the Winco building permit at 300 E. Bellis Fair Pkwy. The city received and accepted a complete building permit application on October 5th. We issued a correction letter on November 5th and have not received a response from the applicant as of today. The applicant has been working with staff on the corrections and we anticipate they will be resubmitting soon.
Man, a whole month just for a correction letter. Ferndale gets commercial permits out in 2 weeks. Done.
