Here’s a press release from the Cascade Radio Group about a minor shift for KAFE:
(Bellingham, Washington) Cascade Radio Group announced today that KAFE-FM, Bellingham, WA will be switching dial positions from 104.3 to 104.1 MHz, to cooperate with Canadian station CHHR-FM’s approval for increased power. Same music, same personalities, same local commitment…just one click down the dial.
CHHR-FM (”Shore FM”) in Vancouver conversely will be switching its dial position from 104.1 to 104.3 MHz. The two stations have agreed on the date of January 14, 2010 at approximately 7:30 AM for the coordinated switch.
To accommodate the 104.1 dial position KAFE has installed a new state-of-the-art, six-bay, circular polarized antenna at 2,400 foot MSL elevation on its tower location atop Mt. Constitution, Orcas Island, San Juan County, providing a huge coverage footprint from Seattle to Lower British Columbia. The new antenna was installed in between this year’s November wind storms by a talented crew from SeaComm Erectors, Inc., Snohomish, WA. The new antenna was custom manufactured for KAFE by The Shively Corporation of Bridgton, Maine.Michael@CascadeRadioGroup.com.
