This weekend just north of the Sumas border crossing, police made the biggest cocaine bust in Abbotsford history.

Officers came across a man with two padlocked duffel bags at 7:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in the 2000 block of Clearbrook Road, about 5 miles from Sumas. The 24-year-old man was “unable to provide many answers” about the bags, so he was searched, according to Abbotsford police.

This is what police claim they found:

That’s about 60 kilograms (132 pounds) in bricks of cocaine.

Canadian police arrested the suspect on suspicion of trafficking drugs. The case remains under investigation.

  1. “This is what police claim they found:”

Reminds me of the joke: an optimist sees the glass half full, the pessimist sees the glass half empty, and the criminal defense attorney sees the glass full – until the police tampered with it.
