A teen believed to have been kidnapped by her biological mother from Stanwood was found unharmed outside a Bellingham inn.

The Seattle Times fills in the details:

A missing 13-year-old Stanwood girl was found in Bellingham this morning, and her mother was arrested for investigation of second-degree kidnapping, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

The girl was returned to her father.

Her mother, Trina Anderson, whose custody of the child had been revoked prior to the girl’s disappearance, was booked into jail.

Karly had last been seen on Tuesday afternoon by her grandfather when he dropped her off at home at 3 p.m. near the 19000 block of Happy Valley Rd. When her father came home around 6 p.m., she was missing.

Karly and her mother were found about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in a Lexus GX parked outside a Quality Inn, said Bellingham police spokesman Mark Young.

Evidence in the Stanwood home led detectives to think Anderson went to Bellingham, the Times reported.
