BLAINE — A man accused of breaking two of his former girlfriend’s teeth was arrested early Tuesday, July 10.

The pair got into an argument at a home on Anderson Road after the woman told Richard McComb Cunningham, 32, she was going to start seeing someone else, said Whatcom County Undersheriff Jeff Parks.

About 2 a.m., Cunningham pummeled the woman in the face with his fists, breaking two teeth and leaving her bleeding from the nose, Parks said. He pushed her outside, then ran from the house. Police dogs tracked him down about three-quarters of a mile away.

Cunningham was booked into Whatcom Couny Jail about 4 a.m. on investigation of domestic violence assault in the second degree.
