A Documentary Film about a Band Called Karp

Monday, November 14th, 2011

If you have heard of Karp or remember listening to this Tumwater-based band back in the 90s (1990-98), it pretty much changed something about you or how you viewed Pacific Northwest area punk/hardcore/rock/underground music. The band released three albums and became influences for several bands later, and to this day has a cult-like following because of its unique combination of sound and short-but-sweet career.

If you haven’t heard of Karp, this is your chance to find out more about the band that was when the documentary “Kill All Redneck Pricks: A Documentary Film about a Band Called KARP” plays at the Pickford Film Center at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19. Click here for more information. The film is done by Bill Badgley of Federation X fame and has been shown around the world since 2009.

Click here for the Facebook event link to the KARP film screening at the Pickford Film Center. There is an after party at Cap Hansen’s.

Go to karplives.com/watch for more information about the band and to watch trailers of the documentary.

During my radio show days at KUGS 89.3 FM in 1996 and 1997, I would play a Karp song almost every show and it was usually this one. Enjoy.
