Bellingham poet Matthew Lane Brouwer is helping to organize a tribute on Sunday, Jan. 13, at the Majestic on North Forest Street, for Bellingham musician Marnun (David) Anders, who played with the Naked Hearts and long ago performed with folk group the Chad Mitchell Trio. Anders died earlier this month. According to certain spiritual traditions, the spirit of the recently departed sticks around its community for 13 days. Join us in sending off Majnun Anders with a celebration of his life and legacy through music and stories. Proceeds will go to benefit the Majnun Anders Memorial Scholarship for Young Healers Living from the Heart.
3 p.m.- Memorial Service
5 p.m.- Food (potluck) and socializing
6 p.m.- An evening of musical tribute featuring the Naked Hearts and many of his musician friends.
Volunteers needed in many capacities. Please contact Matthew Brouwer if you would like to contribute to the event at matthewbrouwerpoet@gmail.com. If there are any performers who were connected to Majnun who would like to perform as part of the Musical Tribute, please contact Harper Stone at harperstone@gmail.com. More on Facebook.

I love Majnun dearly. He was a warm heart friend to me and a huge support in a time of great emotional turmoil. I will miss his friendship, his music, and most of all his warm hug. I love you Majnun. Namaste. kat
Oh my gosh!! I’m so sad! I’ve known David over the years and he even came out to my house to help me learn piano. He was such a sweet, gentle man; and so humble. The last couple times I’ve met up with him was at the Bellingham Library. Sadly I never made it down to hear him play with Naked Hearts and I regret that.
I am so sad that I’ll never see him again!!
Please count me in as a volunteer for the event!
