Waldorf school hosts parent info night Jan. 28

Here’s the press release on Waldorf’s Parent Info Night, Monday, January 28th from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM and Alia Hall:

Parent Info Nights present a glimpse of Waldorf integrated curriculum from early childhood programs through the grades.  Meet teachers, visit classrooms and see student work. Discover how the Waldorf foundational approach to child development in the early years results in future academics. Bring your questions about Waldorf education!Special guest Marla Smith joins our teachers for this evening. Marla brings her rich and varied experience in Waldorf education to our school for second grade evaluations and teacher mentorship. Marla has worked in Waldorf Education for 30 years as a kindergarten and preschool teacher and teaching grades 1-3.  For the last several years, she has worked as an Educational Support teacher with Waldorf’s Extra Lesson program as well as the HANDLE sensory program.  She credits the hundreds of children with whom she has worked as her best teachers for discovering how to help children learn.

Topic for discussion include Waldorf Education’s curriculum and approach have the capacity to meet the child with activities, structure and content through the spectrum of development.  Rather than curriculum, our topic will include the supportive nature of movement activities for strengthening learning capacity as well as the method of learning about the world of numbers and language.

Join us for this fun, informational evening! Parent Info Nights are open to visitors, as well as the Waldorf school community.  Childcare is available in our cozy Aftercare room for children 3 and older, with pre-registration.
