Diverse fiction for Teens

I think YA books are a lot like it’s readers — you just can’t pin them into one category. Here are some books for my teen friends to try.

Eve & AdamEve and Adam, by husband wife team, Katherine Applegate and Michael Grant, is just such a book.   The novel follows Eve’s recovery after her leg is severed accidentally and while she heals, she’s given the task of creating the perfect male.  With a great love story intertwined, it doesn’t matter how you categorize this sci-fi/romance/dystopian novel; what matters is that it crackles with ingenuity and will hold you through the final page.

The DivinersLibba Bray mixes historical with the paranormal in her latest novel, The Diviners.  Though set in Prohibition-era NYC, it is much more than a historical fiction novel.  The heroine has psychic powers and with a villain back from the dead to terrorize the living, the story promises much more than a history lesson.  Awesome read.
