Start 2013 with some new books from some old favorites:

Max & Ruby's Treasure HuntMax and Ruby’s Treasure Hunt written and illustrated by Rosemary Wells (ages 3-5)

This fun, interactive book provides opportunities for all five early literacy practices: talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing.  Grandma has created a treasure hunt for Max and Ruby, and readers can play right along with them.  They will be lifting flaps, following clues and finishing nursery rhymes to find the hidden treasure.  Enjoy this delightful, new treat from the amazing Rosemary Wells.

MiceMice (ages 2-5) written by Rose Fyleman and illustrated by Lois Ehlert

Lois Ehlert has taken a classic, rhyming poem by Rose Fyleman and illustrated it in her enchanting style using colorful, handmade paper and string collage.  Mice is a pleasure for the eyes and ears.  Readers will squeal with giggles and horror when they realize the narrator of this tale is none other than a grinning, toothy—CAT!

These books will be fun to share on a lap or with a small group.  It’s the perfect time to curl up with a good book.
