Have you seen the movie Lincoln? It’s not so much about his life as it is about his persistent personality and ambition to eliminate slavery. As he takes on the challenge of war and human abuse the story reminds us that an effective leader makes all the difference in the comfort level of its followers and how close we came to losing the united freedom we all enjoy today. As we celebrate this day whether we get time off or not, let’s pause to appreciate those leaders who shaped this great country and who continue to keep it great.
