Second Skagit River reach opens for fall salmon fishing

The Gilligan Creek to Dalles Bridge reach of the Skagit River opens to recreational salmon fishing Tuesday, Aug. 16.

Coho and pink salmon are fair game, chinook and chum salmon are not.

Anglers may keep three salmon (aggregate bag) per day plus one additional pink salmon. 

Both the night fishing ban and anti-snagging terminal gear rules apply.

Both the lower Skagit now open for salmon as well as the remaining sections of the upper Skagit together with selected tributaries are open for summer trout fishing. The limit is two trout between 14 and 20 inches, also bull trout 20 inches and longer may be kept as part of the daily trout take.
