The Bellingham Tea Party is having another event 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Thousands of people have attended the non-profit organization’s first two Meridian events. The group recently approved a mission statement “to reverse deficit spending and the concentration of power in central government, in order to preserve states’ rights and individual liberty for future generations.”
The gathering takes place as Whatcom County voters begin making decisions for local races from everything for Port of Bellingham Commission to Whatcom County Council to various city council races.
Organizers are asking any signs brought to the event to be family friendly and to not mention any specific person or political party, but sign makers can encourage county residents to vote.
