Efforts to purge voters from Ohio rolls stir up resentment

Written by | The Bellingham Herald | September 27, 2012

By John Stark

The Los Angeles Times reports that some Ohio voters are getting letters informing them that their right to vote is being challenged.

Read that story here.

The challenges are being mounted by a Tea Party affliliate that, among other things, is trying to weed out college students who tend to vote Democratic.

We’ve heard rumors–but no more–that some people in Whatcom County may be getting such letters. If you have received one, give me a call at 360-715-2274, or email john.stark@bellinghamherald.com

Dead people have the right to vote!

The cemeteries of Chicago have been doing for generations, don’t ya know!

    AFY!!theheelotsheepdog!!!

  2. Toby says:

Are you F-ing kidding me on this? Really? Will the repubs stoop to no level that they are trying to now challenge a fundamental right? This is disgusting and makes me physically sick. If you get one of these letters, not only do you go right after the people sending them, but you report them to the PA of Bellingham to have them brought up on charges of harassment!

Face it, Rebubs, your candidate is an idiot, everyone knows it, and he is going down in flames. Give it up, go to the polls in November, take your medicine, and then sit down and SHUT UP! Let the adults finally do some work to get this thing fixed and then bring a better idiot to the party next time!

    Ridiculous….

  3. Ringo says:

I don’t know, AFY. Exactly how many cases have been reported or found compared with how many people are being pushed away from their right to vote?

  4. Boudou says:

    Salon reports:

The Republican Party of Florida’s top recipient of 2012 expenditures, a firm by the name of Strategic Allied Consulting, was just fired on Tuesday night, after more than 100 apparently fraudulent voter registration forms were discovered to have been turned in by the group to the Palm Beach County, FL Supervisor of Elections.

The firm appears to be another shell company of Nathan Sproul, a longtime, notorious Republican operative, hired year after year by GOP Presidential campaigns, despite being accused of shredding Democratic voter registration forms in a number of states over several past elections.

  5. Apexnerd says:

Just so you know… the time you spend trying to have a “discussion” with AFY is time you are never ever going to get back.

At least when you talk to a brick wall you know you aren’t going to get anywhere with it.

    Just sayin..

  6. Bickerstaff says:

The same is happening to college students in Michigan. Newly registered voters (most college students) are not being allowed to vote by absentee ballot/through the mail.

  7. AFY says:

The Voter Integrity Project found 30,000 dead people on the voters rolls just in North Carolina, now if you don’t have voter ID’s, I’s sure no one would ever never take advantage of this.

But here’s a question for me liberal friends, why did the democratic party required ID’s for their convention?

Can democrat voters not be trusted to enter a convention that’s for Democrats? Why would they lie about who they are? Think about the hardship for all those without an ID, those dem’s are so cruel, don’t ya know!

    AFY!!theheelotsheepdog!!!

  8. Jono says:

I imagine ID’s were checked at the convention because delegates were chosen to represent the party from each state. Gotta make sure the people there are the actual delegates or alternates, don’t ya know.

  9. AFY says:

Heck if you are just helping a friend it should be OK don’t ya think?

“Democrat withdraws from 1st District congressional race after allegations she voted in two states

Rosen says she registered in Fla. to support friend there….

  10. AFY says:

I’s reckon finding out who’s a legit delegate is; be much more important than who a legit voters is!

“York: When 1,099 felons vote in race won by 312 ballots…

    http://washingtonexaminer.com/york-when-1099-felons-vote-in-race-won-by-312-ballots/article/2504163

Methinks those opposed to voter ID’s feel as if ID’s would be denying the vote to like minded people, like Felons, Illegal’s, and the dead, don’t ya know!

    AFY!!theheelotsheepdog!!!

  11. WORST_EVER_43 says:

Registering and votes counting are two different things. (Don’t ya know!)

The republicans are trying desperately to disenfranchise as many poor and nearly poor
(the 47%) as they can as they are well aware they have little chance unless they somehow
    cheat (democracy).

    Nothing new.

It’s a “problem” that doesn’t exist, but it’s so easy to gin up the uneducated (tea “partiers”)
with false claims and hyperbole. (Florida has had ONE documented case in TEN years)

    Can’t beat ‘em??
    Disenfranchise “em.

Desperate times for the beaten, beleaguered, shadow of it’s former self, GOP.

  12. AFY says:

I’s just don’t know why anybody would ever never want to check a voter’s ID, the system is so perfect, don’t ya know!

“Nearly 2 million dead Americans are still on active voter registries, and 1 in every 8 registrations in the United States is invalid or has major inaccuracies, according to a new study….

….Almost 3 million Americans are actively registered to vote in multiple states, while about 12 million have old or error-ridden addresses listed on their registrations…..

“These problems waste taxpayer dollars, undermine voter confidence and fuel partisan disputes over the integrity of our elections.”…..

  13. WORST_EVER_43 says:

Can’t imagine any citizen living in these grand United States and not being
able to understand that their are those who are too poor to drive and or pay other entities to get what the righties want to classify as “acceptable” ID.

Ya’ know.. part of the 47% that they want to deny their constitutional rights.

And they have the gall to wave the flag and chant “We the People”

    Shameful.
    Don’t ya’ KNOW.

  14. AFY says:

Well if they get welfare, go to the liquor store, foodstamps, etc etc etc people who do have to show ID but we all know poor people don’t do that!

I’s know there no way! that someone else could ever never vote for a dead person still on the rolls, don’t ya know!

    AFY!!theheelotsheepdog!!!

  15. AFY says:

This is one of the funnest voter fraud videos yet! No ID being required to vote is making a joke of the whole process, don’t ya know!

  16. AFY says:

“U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has declared that there is no proof that in-person voter fraud is a problem. He’s about to see proof that even he can’t deny.
In a new video (below) provided to Breitbart.com, James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas demonstrates why Holder should stop attacking voter ID laws–by walking into Holder’s voting precinct and showing the world that anyone can obtain Eric Holder’s primary ballot. Literally………

  17. Apexnerd says:

    oh James O Keefe says something… that’s all I needed to hear… #eyeRoll

  18. AFY says:

If you can’t attack the message you can always attack the messenger!

Be careful of eye rolls they could make your view get cockeyed or slanted, don’t ya know!

    AFY!!theheelotsheepdog!!!

  19. WORST_EVER_43 says:

Any measurable real instances of voter fraud has been debunked by many reputable studies and sources.

Assuming that everyone living at or near poverty level is going to “the liquor store and getting food stamps etc etc etc” is as ignorant and judgemental and anti-american as as it gets.

    Don’t ya ..

  20. AFY says:

I’s said they don’t do that, you be the one judging, don’t ya know!

“Anita Moncrief, a former Acorn employee and Obama supporter blows the whistle on her former employer with regards to Obama’s supporters, voter fraud, campaign finance fraud, and the cover-up by the media.

Moncrief, a former liberal, witnessed first hand the total corruption of the liberal machine. Ms. Moncrief is incredibly brave to come forth…..

Below are two videos (Part 1 And Part 2) sharing her experiences. If you want a window into the utter depravity of the left and an insight to how low the left will stoop then you should take the time to view these two videos.

Originally I was only going to invest a few minutes but was riveted to her testimony. A MUST SEE!

  21. WORST_EVER_43 says:

    Oh.. yeah.
“If” was said, implying the rest.

    As “if” that’s any better.

  22. Apexnerd says:

…well when the messenger is a knucklehead who gets caught in lies…

  23. Dondegroovily says:

AFY, here’s what undermines the legitimacy of an election – 77,000 valid voters kept from the polls because they don’t meet a technicality, not 10 attempts to fraudulently vote that are caught and not counted.

  24. UncleGeorge says:

Pennsylvania House Majority leader Mike Turzai, Republican, said his state’s Republican sponsored voter ID law, “is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania.” In other words, the Republican party hasn’t won a fair and square election this century, why start now?

These people actually believe, and AFY’s signature “welfare/food stamps” comment above is a perfect example, that only rich, white, land-owners should be allowed to vote at all. Just like the good old days of the targeted “poll tax” and “literacy tests”. The 47% don’t, by Mitt’s very definition, deserve the ballot, having not “earned” it you see. Further, every state, every one, that is working the “innocent” voter ID angle is ruled by Republicans. The smell test is reminiscent of the Augean stables.

But, speaking of earned, it appears Mitt has earned the current polls in the very states he is attempting to “skew”.

    Ohio: Mitt down 6 points.
    Virginia: Mitt down 4.1.
    Florida: Mitt down 4.3.
    Colorado: Mitt down 3.4

And let’s not forget Pennsylvania, where the RR boys are down 7.9 points. Panic time for the Rs. What can they do but try and rig another election process?

  25. - If memory serves… In 2004 the King County GOP tried a massive voter registration challenge based on a database search comparing voters addresses with addresses of businesses. Of course it turned out that all the challenged voters were legit, either renting apartments above businesses or home business owners.

    - Isn’t Whatcom County’s only voter registration fraud case a Lynden Republican who registered her dog, (just to show how easy it was committed voter fraud)?

    - It seems that it’s the Republicans who actually have a voter registration fraud program:
GOP Voter Registration Irregularities Generally Overlooked by Mainstream Media

  26. AFY says:

The only group that is against voter ID’s is a small group of democrats who for strictly partisan reasons; desires to disenfranchise legitimate voters in the hope of promoting their own selfish goals!

    “…In a new Washington Post poll, a majority…..

…Among all adults, 74 percent supported photo ID, as did 76 percent of independents and even 60 percent of Democrats. Sixty-five percent of blacks and 64 percent of Hispanics backed requiring ID at the polls. Those who lack a high-school degree — the demographic whose members are probably the most likely not to be able to afford an ID – registered 76 percent support…..

Artur Davis, the former Democratic congressman from Alabama who nominated Barack Obama for president at the 2008 Democratic convention, agrees. “A big thing that drove me to leave the Democratic party and support photo ID was the realization that the real victims of voter fraud are minority and poor people who live in places where machines block reform efforts by stealing votes,”…….

So it sounds likes SL you oppose voter fraud just likes me, so let’s join hands together and support voter ID’s and fight voter fraud together, don’t ya know!
