Another $150 came in today as of 4:45 p.m. for the Politics Blog’s Interfaith Coalition Friendly Visitors program fundraiser.
Absolutely fantastic, the total is now up to $800!
I don’t know that the three donors today (some are couples) have made it known they were going to donate so I won’t release their identities. One of them, however, I’m not really familiar with, so I’m even more amazed that a blurker (a person who reads the blog but doesn’t comment, short for “blog lurker”) also has participated.
Good work again to everyone.
We’ll be here bright and early Monday morning for our last week of the fundraiser.
Donations end Friday, Feb. 19. Incidentally, I’m actually off work that day but we’re still accepting the donations.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, and Happy Valentine’s Day.

A little bit of sunshine in the midst of a generally grey, but warm winter.
My Hellebores are gorgeous, the day lillies are out of the ground, hydrangea are budding out, and the daffodils are up.
I ain’t no gardener. I just have a few plants.
I like this winter better than last year, for a number of reasons.

Wow, this is all fantastic news. Spring is springing early this year, and we all have reason to celebrate what will ultimately be an extremely successful funding drive!
This is really awesome! I can’t tell you guys how stoked I am!
Oh, and, be sure to keep those donations coming!

And I can see bluebirds everywhere!

And I mean that in a good way!
Todd2, I think you’re adorable and I could just eat you up.
Your enthusiasm reminds me what it’s like to be a 9-year old on Christmas Eve.
I love it!

Morning Sam, how’d the fund do over the weekend?
February 16th, 2010 at 8:21 AM
Also gang, I say lets’ push this last week and see if we can get other friends to contribute. I’ve got one more $50 to turn in.
As for the great early spring. Seems welcome now, but we are headed for a big drought so things won’t seem so rosy come summer.

Todd I love Camille’s comments about your attitude. I do think though that we all start banging on the keyboards long before Sam has had his morning coffee. And apparently far into the night after the
Sam-man has crawled in the sack. I could be wrong, but…

Ya, Sam had a grueling day yesterday as the only Herald reporter, so he had to cover the Bite in Blaine. It might have been rough!
Although, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, there was hardly a breath of wind, and guess what? The Herons are nesting down by the sewer treatment plant! And, they are really easy to see, because the leaves aren’t out on the trees yet. I’m going back down to have another look at them today, even though it’s raining.
I take all of this as a definite sign that spring has come early this year and that the Friendly Visitors fund is going to eclipse our wildest expectations.
BTW, Shaun, my friend yesterday said El Nino summers here are wet and cool. Is that right, or are we going to have a drought this summer? I need some long-term forecasting!

My garden hates the little boy child years. Last one my tomatoes got the blight before they got red, the only thing that did well was the lettuce–and I think the Whatcom berry crop took a beating as well.
