Lest we forget, Whatcom Democrats did endorse a number of other candidates at their Thursday, 17 meeting: candidates who were unopposed on the county ballot.
That list includes two who are running unopposed: Bellingham City Council members Terry Bornemann and Jack Weiss.
They also endorsed candidates who were unopposed for the Dem endorsement, because their opponents did not seek the party’s seal of approval:
- Steve Oliver, incumbent County Treasurer
- Pete Kremen, departing County Executive, seeking the District 1 seat on the County Council
- Christina Maginnis, County Council District 2
- Alan Black, County Council District 3
- Incumbent City Council member Seth Fleetwood
I am a dues paying member of the Whatcom Democrats and as a tribal member I can poke fun of us. It is an odd group. But I am happy with the Steve Oliver, Pete Kremen, Seth Fleetwood endorsements.

Riley, I like your blogs and advocacy – even when we disagree. However, You seem critical on other commentators on other political candidates past and present.
