Iran’s semi-official FARS news agency appears to have been fooled by a story in The Onion, which provided bogus poll results indicating that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is more popular than Barack Obama among rural white U.S. voters.
Here is the original report in The Onion.
I notice that The Onion staff, vigilant and helpful as ever, has noted the FARS report and provides a link to it, referring to FARS as “our Iranian subsidiary organization.” That’s not really true, is it?

Why is this important? President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is not on our ballot but Obama is.
How many American voters really want Obama? For what I hear the ones who are voting for Obama are doing so out of fear that Romney will be worst and not because they want to support Obama.
I would not vote for Ahmadinejad and I will not vote for Obama.
If rural Americans had rather go to a baseball game and have a beer with Ahmadinejad rather than Obama as the story goes, who cares? It is O.K. with me. Perhaps the rural Americans are afraid that Obama will send killer drones to the players that he does not like.
We need to find out the Onion’s Gallup sampling before we jump to any conclusions, don’t ya know!
BTW; bellinghamowl you make me howl!
AFY!!theheelotsheepdog!!!
Iran and bellinghamowl. The joke is on you, two!
It may indeed be an Iranian subsidiary. The Onion specializes in FARCE and I believe FARS is simply the Persian word for farce.
این همه چیز یک نمایش مضحک است
