Would this explanation entice you to watch this video?
The opening view is me standing in front of a machine & I go over what I need to do when replacing a doorknob. Watch it & give me feedback. Vote-vote-vote-vote.
Sold yet?
You can watch the actual video, where Swapp kind of rambles a bit (to the point where they actually use fade transitions between parts of him talking) about it, but the overall point of the video is concern for regulation and taxation. Check it out, right here.
I can’t embed the video, either, as it appears the campaign blocked that ability (lame, by the way).

What business has to deal with in this state is very complicated, it is hard to explain just as it is hard to understand, and it won’t be easy to fix, but then there are those having to deal with it on a day to day that know that it needs to be fixed!
I like John a lot, he’s a real person (not a slick politician) trying to make a difference. Something we need more of.
AFY!!theheelotsheepdog!!!
I don’t know John Swapp, but if AFY likes him, that’s good enough for me.
On the other hand, either he’s really fudging some numbers, or he’s not a very good businessman. He claims that his business generates $1,500 per day in sales and earns a 5% profit (presumably pre-tax). In his example, assuming his business operates 5 days a week and 52 weeks a year, his total profit is less than $20,000 per year. (1500 x 5 x 52 x 5%)
Again, Mr. Swapp seems like a nice enough guy, plus AFY likes him, so he’s got that going for him. But claiming you’re a businessman who’s going to shape up Olympia when your business earns less than $20k per year seems like a stretch to me.
What do you think, Sam? (Please don’t tell us you’re not paid to think…)
PS – Considering Mr. Swapp’s pre-tax income of $20k, how much of a burden can income taxes really be?
OM I’s likes you too!
I hope you don’t hold that agin yourself!
AFY!!theheelotsheepdog!!!
Hey OM, do you know if his business is a Sub S, cause if it is, his business income will mainly be taxed(if he chooses to) as personal not like as a C corp which is mainly as a business, hope I ain’t gettin to complicated for you me open minded friend!
AFY!!theheelotsheepdog!!!
AFY, I really don’t know if Swapp’s business is a pass-through entity (such as a Sub S, sole proprietorship, or partnership). It’s possible that his business generates a very substantial income that he takes out as salary leaving only a small amount as business profit.
To be honest, I like Mr. Swapp’s approach, and I can easily relate to him based on my past business experience. I just couldn’t help having a little fun with his numbers. He’s trying to make a very valid point, but instead of trying to convince us he cannot afford a doorknob, he might have been better off using a more substantial example (like expanding his facilities or purchasing a machine tool to produce more product).
I’m glad you like me; the feeling is mutual (even if you seem to get a little annoyed at times). Your liking me does leave me conflicted though, so I’ll be taking the rest of the day off to deal with that.
Please behave while I’m gone. I’ll ask gk to look after you.
BTW, did anyone else think he was going to use that wrench to open the door? I thought his point was going to be about spending limits (like not buying a door knob and simply using a wrench every time).
Perhaps he has an alternative ending in another video.
I’m not paid to think.
Its sounds like a whole bunch of liking is going on here!
Do I’s have to play with my dear GHK, I’s like to play with me friend OM much better! My dear GHK has way too many nice things to say!
OM and his past business experience, I’s didn’t know(or maybe I’s forgot) OM had been on the dark side like my dear GHK(is)!
AFY!!theheelotsheepdog!!!
I did say “please.”
I guess you’re paid to write; but doesn’t thinking come in to play at some point?
Can you at least answer the question about Swapp using his wrench to open the door? Didn’t you think he’d be using it at some point? Why hold such a big prop if it has no purpose?
It would have been wicked cool if his video was in 3D and he threw the wrench at the camera and it looked like it was coming at you! He could charge admission.
But, really, I was a bit confused about why he was holding a wrench.
A working man likes to have a wrench in his hands, it feels good, kinda like a grounded feeling I must say!
I’s likes it when ST is confused too!
AFY!!theheelotsheepdog!!!
Remember what the door knob said…
FEED YOUR HEEEEEEEAAAAAAAD!!!!
It’s a guy thing. And that was a big wrench. So AFY, what kind of wrench do you tote around? Crescent? Box end? Torque? Or me favorite… Ratchet…..
