House of Reps panel scrutinizes stimulus spending

November 19th, 2009 2 PM PST by Sam Taylor - The Bellingham Herald

Via the New York Times:

The government official charged with monitoring the outlay of $787 billion in stimulus funds acknowledged on Thursday that he too found dubious the 640,000 jobs figure touted by the Obama administration as proof the stimulus was working.

Earl E. Devaney acknowledged to members of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that there were too many errors in the reporting of data to be able to accurately offer that estimate. (The White House had warned that the jobs figures were imperfect.)

Hopefully someone might check out why it costs $300,000 a job!

More than $4.7 million in federal stimulus aid so far has been funneled to schools in North Chicago, and state and federal officials say that money has saved the jobs of 473 teachers. But the district only has 290 teachers!

With this kind of math what else could be true but books that are cooked to “well done”!

Lies. lies, and more lies but lets believe what they say about health care!

The Fed has offered up over $6 trillion for banks to prop up their reserves,
down from $8 trillion in 2008.
No oversight and no strings and no disclosure of which banks got the cash.
Then The Fed pays the banks interest on money taken,
    booked to reserves,
but left on deposit with The Fed.
Wonder why you can’t get a loan?
And we squabble over a few million here or there as if it was important to our economy.
If The Fed offered consumers the same chance to borrow at a quarter of a percent simple interest,
the economy would be on fire with prosperity.
