Whatcom County residents can speak to congressman this evening

Today you have a chance to speak with your congressman by telephone about the fiscal cliff or any other federal matter that concerns you.

Until the end of the year, all Whatcom County residents are represented by Rick Larsen (D-Everett), elected to his seventh term in November. Next year, he’ll represent Bellingham and the southwest county, while most of the rural county will fall within District 1, represented by Democrat Suzan DelBene.

More than the fiscal cliff is on citizens’ minds after the horrific school shooting in Newtown, Conn. Here’s a link to co-blogger John Stark’s post, which includes a discussion of the gun control debate with a statement from Rep. Larsen.

MONDAY: Larsen Will Hold Telephone Town Hall to Discuss the Fiscal Cliff With Constituents

WASHINGTON—Rep. Rick Larsen, WA-02, will hold a telephone town hall Monday at 6 p.m. PST. Larsen will discuss the negotiations to avoid the fiscal cliff and other matters facing Congress in the final weeks of the year.

Constituents will be invited to ask questions on any topic of their interest.

Constituents wishing to listen to the call can dial 877-229-8493 and enter the pass code 18502.
