Old and new Shuksan from the sky

I received this photo from Lyle Jansma Saturday morning. He flew over the Shuksan Middle School site last week, gaining a great view of how the construction of the new school looks against the demolition of the old school.

If any of you haven’t gone out to the site yet, on the corner of Northwest Ave. and Alderwood Rd., do so. It’s pretty impressive to see the new building… and the speed at which the old building is coming down.

In the above photo, the demolished school is on the right. The gray area is the foundation — there used to be two wings pointing to the top of the photo, with a computer lab and library just below them. The only part of the building that’s still in tact in this photo appears to be the gym/locker room area (large square still standing) and the cafeteria.
