Meridian school bus rear-ended; no injuries but students will be late getting home

Written by | The Bellingham Herald | April 26, 2011

A Meridian School District school bus was rear-ended about 3:10 p.m. on Hannegan Road near Axton Road, according to district Superintendent Tim Yeomans.

There were no injuries in the crash and the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office is on scene, Yeomans said.

The bus was stopped to let students off when car hit it from behind. The bus is fine and will be able to complete the route, Yeomans said.

Students will arrive home “a bit” later than usual, Yeomans said.

Hmm.. School bus travel seems to be getting dicey in Whatcom County. Isn’t this the second bus mishap in April. I seem to recall two buses involved in a rear ender in Ferndale not so long ago?
