Whatcom Community College students say don’t cut higher ed, ‘invest in me’

In a week in which AP’s Mike Baker reports that Washington state legislators don’t seem to feel an urgency in dealing with the state’s budget crisis, Whatcom Community College students have made and posted a video that puts faces behind Gov. Chris Gregoire’s proposal to cut $160 million from higher education.

“We, as Whatcom students, want to get the point across that our education is worth fighting for,” Kelsey Rowlson tells me. “We are hoping the legislators will consider college students and what the $160 million in proposed cuts will do to society in general.”
