U.S. highway travels increases for fourth month in a row
The the fourth month in a row, the number of miles driven nation wide rose in Septmber, according to new numbers from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The DOT takes its data from highway vehicle counters in each of the states. In September, the number of miles driven nationwide increase 2.5 percent. The consistent increases nationwide may signal an economic recovery, according to this article from Reuters. Click here to read it.
Nevada saw a big decrease, which may signal that the economy has left fewer people wanting to gamble. States including South Dakota, North Dakota and Montana all saw big increases, which an officials said was probably due to people driving to vacation destinations there, instead of flying.
